How are you?
I’m writing you to talk about one of my best trips. It was when I went to Nepal. I was there for a month two years ago.
Nepal is a small country located between China and India. Its most important city is Kathmandu which is the capital of the country. There are many Hindu temples and religious monuments and you can feel anywhere that religion is very important there. Most people are Hindu but Buddhism is very important too. The country is very cheap for us, you can sleep for one euro and you can eat for two or three euros. I was for about ten days in Kathmandu.
Nepal is also known because it has the highest mountains in the world. I trekked near the Everest base camp for two weeks. It was a fantastic experience, the landscape was wonderful and I could learn a little about Sherpa culture. The Sherpas are people who live in the Himalayas, south of Tibet, near the high mountains. Now a lot of them are experienced mountain guides. They always have been porters because they needed to bring all kind of food, clothes and other things to the farthest villages. When tourists arrived, they began to earn money carrying their heavy backpacks (you can see it in the pictures). They can carry even up to four or five backpacks of tourists. It’s quite harmful for their health and they have a lot of problems when they are about forty years old. They are quite poor but they are always smiling and they are very friendly.
Nepal is a lovely place, I hope to return some day.
I send you some photos which I took there.
Well,that’s all for now.
See you tomorrow.

R.E.M., one of the great American rock bands of the last 30 years, announced it is breaking up.
I feel a bit sorry because they played part of the soundtrack of my life….
- What do you think were REMs¨ greatest hits?
- If you had to choose the best pop band in the last 50 years, what band would you choose?
With the general elections just days away, Spain’s borrowing costs have risen to their highest rate since 1997.
On money borrowed today, payable in 10 years, Spain has to pay an interest rate of 6.975% – dangerously close to the 7% mark at which other eurozone countries have had to seek bailouts. Italian 10-year bond yields passed 7% earlier this month.
Opinion polls indicate that the opposition Popular Party will win Spain’s general election on Sunday, ending seven years of Socialist government.
