DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS SAYING? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

alfonso-diez-y-los-hijos-de-la-duquesa-de-alba-gtres

Los-hermanos-Rivera-posando

CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT THE RELATIONSHIP IS BETWEEN THE EXPRESSION ABOVE AND THE  ALBA SIBLINGS OR THE RIVERA BROTHERS?

CAN YOU THINK OF ANY OTHER EXAMPLES OF FAMOUS SIBLINGS?

  1. The meaning of the sentence is the same as in Spanish, isn’t it? It means that when something is presented to you as extremely marvellous, maybe it’s not true, and if you look for defects you’ll probably find them.

I think that the relation between the sentence and the Rivera brothers is that it seems like they live in a parallel glamorous world where everything is perfect, but they don’t get along with each other.

Famous siblings? Cain and Abel, for example.

  2. Hi!I´m agree with Paco.. In my opinion, the sense of the saying, is to make us see, that the things although apparently seem that are quite, in reality they aren´t.
For example, thing about Mecano (Nacho Cano, Ana Torroja and José María Cano)….
