BLOG WRITING: STEPS

TASK: You are going to write a blog entry / blog post answering the following question:“HOW ARE YOU DEALING WITH TECHNOLOGY AND REMOTE LEARNING?

TITLE: Please think of an engaging title to attract readers!

PHOTOS / PICTURES: The blog post should be readable and visually appealing. You might include an  original picture in your blog post: either photos you take, or hand-drawings (those are very popular on  blogs!)

LANGUAGE: It´s advisable to address the readers at the beginning: “Hi readers” , “Hi there! (as this is an informal context)

OPENINGS: Opening your post with a rhetorical question is a good technique: (” Did you know that…..?),  statistics (“One out of 10 students…..) , a quote or proverb (“You can never teach an old dog new tricks”)  or a brief sentence that summarizes your opinion (“Every cloud has a silver lining” OR “Disasters never come alone”)

FINISHING OFF: Here are some effective phrases to end your blog post (addressing the reader, one again):

  • How about you?
  • I bet you’ll have something to say!
  • Let us know your comments….OR…. Have your say
  • If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you shared it on Twitter or Facebook. Thank you!
  • What am I missing here? Let me know in the comments and I’ll add it in!
  • Don´t miss any of my posts!

FORMAT: Type your blog post in a GOOGLE DOCS document, and copy & paste the pictures into the appropriate location in the text.

LENGTH: Your short blog post should be 100-120 words long (not including the title).

AUDIENCE: You are targeting other students or classmates and/ or  the teacher.

DEADLINEShare your Google Docs document with me before 19th MAY . I´ll try to share all the entries with you. You will read each others’ blog posts and vote on your favorite comments!

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON !!!!
